OUR PRACTICE :

General Information

Telephone Consultations & Messages

Telephone consultations with your ‘Usual GP’ may be booked in advance by calling reception. If your medical need is more urgent your message will be passed to the daily Duty Doctor.

Computers & Personal Health Information

We are registered under the Data Protection Act and have robust systems in place to protect your confidentiality. Personal health information is used to monitor the practice’s screening activities and by way of data extract may be shared with other agencies within the NHS Public Health Directorate to benefit patient care. Occasionally anonymised health information is sent to our Clinical Commissioning Board to monitor quality standards and for post-payment verification purposes.

Academic Links & GP Training

The practice is linked to the UCL/Royal Free Hospitals medical school and teaches medical students in the practice. We also host doctors completing their GP training with the London Deanery.

Medical Examinations

All patients are asked to undergo a health check when they register with the practice. Examinations required for non-medical reasons, e.g. Insurance, Employment or Sporting reasons are available but will incur a fee and need to be discussed with an administrative team member when booking.

Locum GPs

We employ locums when necessary to cover practice doctor and nurse absences.

All GP Practices are required to declare mean earnings

(i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice

The average pay for GPs working in the Amwell Group Practice

in the last financial year was £39,886 before tax and National Insurance

This is for 8 part time GPs

who worked in the practice for more than six months
